Here’s a brief summary from Vijay’s portion:
“For those of you who are serious about using the Internet to take your business globally, I have 3 main points.

First, just because you have a
website that can be accessed by
people from other countries, this
does not mean that you are now
running a global business. Just
because someone knows how to hit a
golf ball, it doesn't make them
Tiger Woods. There are very
specific issues you need to
address when it comes to marketing
your website to play in this
global market.

Second, for those of you that feel
that you have a pretty good market
share just through traditional
ways of marketing, then you may be
asking why use the Internet? We
all know off line marketing media
like TV , Radio , Print Media ,
Yellow Pages , Newspaper are
localized and are relatively
expensive. The Internet is the one
viable solution left at the end of
the day which can provides
national or global market reach at
a fraction of the cost of
traditional off line marketing.
During these challenging economic
times, not only are you competing
with the businesses down the
street; you're competing with
businesses that are located
halfway around the world.

Thirdly, just because you have a
web person who created a nice
looking website for you, this
doesn't mean your website is ready
to compete in global markets. You
need a top 10 ranking on major
search engines in markets you want
to compete on qualified keywords.
Your business needs to get fit in
a GYM . . . what I mean by GYM is
(Google , Yahoo & MSN). To
accomplish higher rankings on
search engines , You need a
qualified team which has all
skills sets to accomplish 1st
10 rankings on major search
engines For example, some of
these skill sets of a team
include:
- Online marketing person understands customer’s behavior on the internet ,
- Programming and coding
- On line communications & content management
- Designing
- Link Building for Search Engine Optimization
